In an attempt to bolster their defensive backfield that has been riddled with injuries and subpar play, the Minnesota Vikings announced another roster move on Tuesday when they agreed to terms with unrestricted free agent Benny Sapp. Calling for a two year deal worth a total of $4.2 Million, Sapp will be back in Minnesota in 2010 competing for a starting spot alongside Antoine Winfield.

Last year, the Minnesota Vikings gambled that either they could buy Chester Taylor at the twelfth hour at a discount or that they no longer would need someone like Taylor behind a gradually evolving Adrian Peterson. That gambled failed, as the Vikings increasingly relied on Taylor in clutch situations and Peterson plateaued.

Pat and Kevin Williams (not related) of the Minnesota Vikings sued the NFL over its anti-doping procedures over one year ago. The case finally went to trial Monday. The “Williams Wall” who both tested positive for the banned substance bumetanide, which can mask steroids, played every game last season while challenging the four-game suspensions that come with a positive test

The Minneapolis Star-Tribune is reporting that the Minnesota Vikings have interest in free agent running back, LaDainian Tomlinson. Tomlinson was cut by the Chargers prior to the kick-off of free agency, and has garnered some scattered attention. He is clearly on the decline, but still possess enough talent to make an impact here and there for a team

According to Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, there is a growing level of interest between Minnesota and LaDainian Tomlinson, who was cut loose this off-season after nine stellar seasons with the Chargers.
